The latest dube designs from our Flickr group.
It's Monday 8th April 2013 and that time again. I can't believe a year has gone since our last trip to one of the largest and most popular Music Exhibitions in the world - MUSIKMESSE at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.
Today and tomorrow we will set our pitch to be ready for Show Days - Wednesday until Saturday.
We are hoping for and expect a busy week ahead, another exciting and promising one for The Dube as we once again take to the road.
A great part of these exhibitions is meeting the very special friends we have been so lucky to make in the industry, who have been so kind and helpful. Having friends with years of experience in the percussion world, willing to offer their time and help, has proved to be invaluable. Thank you to you all!! As always we very much look forward to meeting and jamming with newcomers to the Dube too this week and showcasing what it has to offer.
Remember to keep checking back for my Musikmesse blog each day. I 'll be keeping you updated on what has been happening and who we have met this time!! Can we get better than the one and only Robbie Williams? I'm not sure it's possible - but it's going to be fun trying!!!!
Set up day today and all has gone well at Musikmesse so far. Our container arrived on time and Ash, my brother, and I have been putting everything together ready for show day Wednesday!
I'll be back tomorrow with an update on the first day of the show - Trade Day!
Set Up 1 Musikmesse 2013
Set Up 2 Musikmesse 2013
Set Up Quad stand Musikmesse 2013
Show day 1 at Musikmesse was a trade day. The show itself is massive with several halls. So much to see and do!
Met some old friends and introduced some new to the Dube today. Great feedback from all and a couple of very positive meetings. All in all a good start to this years visit, now onto day 2 of 4!!
Research day for me today, amongst meetings and demos of the Dube. Here are some of the pictures I took and the stands I looked at. I am always looking to improve and often take ideas of inspiration from what is around me!!
Another busy day for us but I found time to do a bit more research! Loads of ideas, sometimes too many to keep in one head!!!
Craig Blundell - Possible collaboration with the Dube
Day 4 and the final day of the show. Another good day proving to be the noisiest! We think it should be renamed "hit everything as hard as you can and make as much noise as you can day!"
More interest in and meetings with the Dube. A pleasure to catch up with my great friend Mike Dolbear and also an honour to meet the great 'Vic Firth'. THE man in the industry that produces the best sticks and mallets available. A legend in the percussion world.
Another end to another show for the Dube, we are tired and weary but have enjoyed every minute of our visit here at Musikmesse 2013. It's been a very positive experience here in Frankfurt and I look forward to returning next year.
Thanks for tuning in this week, keep in touch I will be back in the very near future with some exciting news for Me and the Dube!
Mike Dolbear and Vic Firth
A well deserved drink for my team!!!
It's that time again, another exciting journey for the Dube and the start of our second show at NAMM 2013 in Los Angeles. We can't quite believe it is a year since our last visit and so much has happened in between.
The Dube team and I arrived on Monday and since then have been busy making final arrangements and setting up our booth for the show. We have also managed to enjoy a little of the sunshine out here too! A little warmer than home and NO SNOW!
Not only do we hope to catch up with our old friends over the next 4 days, updating them on what we have been doing and where we are going, but look forward to meeting many new ones and introducing them to THE DUBE too. The big question is 'Who may meet this year along the way?' Our high point of meeting the legend that is Mr Stevie Wonder last year is going to take some beating but who knows what might happen..........we will have to wait and see.....
Please keep in touch over the next 4 days, I will be checking in regularly with updates and photos of who we meet and what we have been up to when the show starts later today!
Wish us Luck!!!
My first update from NAMM 2013! I was invited by Beyond the Pitch in Anaheim to do an interview about the Dube, NAMM 2013 and my football career.
The guys, Philip, a Manchester United Fan and Anto a supporter of Milan were great fun to chat with and loved the Dube! Click here to have a listen.
So with the interview done it's now time to start with the NAMM show updates!
First day at the LA NAMM Show 2013 was all about Pete Locket, an incredible world percussionist who absolutely loves the Dube. He has a drum app called "DrumJam " which he made the Dube a part of by sampling all the sounds of the Dube and including it on the app. Click here to read more further down this page!
A pretty quiet day as days go for the NAMM Show but I'm sure it will hot up as the weekend draws near, I will keep you posted and updated on it all!
Today was a good day, we had 1 of our biggest and best Dube endorsers come over and have a jam with us at the stand "Thomas Lang." He is AMAZING !! The Dube has been lucky on the 2nd day by having Pete Lockett over again this time he brought 2 of his mates Lea Mullen and Fergus Gerrand with him too, to introduce them to the Dube. Thanks to them all for their time. Now, bring on the noise day 3! Haha
Day 3 today and all is well. To start with I have a short Demo and an Interview link for you, taken at the show. Please have a look below and hope you enjoy!

During the day we had many talented and esteemed percussionists over at the stand, taking a look, jamming with us and enjoying the Dube.
It's gonna take a while to recall all the names of our visitors but here we go! It was great to see both Richie Garcia and his son Roland Garcia, we met in Austin, Texas at the PASIC show last year and they came to see us again and say 'Hi'. They love the Dube! El Negro, Skip from "Kool and the Gang" and James Gadson! All new to the Dube but were impressed by what we had to offer! Finally I am pleased to say our old and valued friend Mr Mike Dolbear popped by again to see us too! Always a pleasure!
Now it's time to close up shop for the day and prepare for day 4! Our final day for this year, I can't believe the end of the show is nearly here already! Bring it on.....

The last day of the NAMM Show 2013 is gonna be (hopefully) the most productive and positive we've had!
We had very positive meetings about taking the Dube forward into new levels of exposure. The Dube team here have done good and I would love to see us get some kind of results for all our hard work.
NAMM Show 2013, thank you. ....
Here we come MUSIKMESSE, Frankfurt in April!
Dear all Dube Fans,
On our travels again! An exciting four days ahead, today being the first. This time I have brought the Dube to the Convention Centre in Austin, Texas to exhibit at PASIC 2012. The largest percussion specialised show in the world. The morning, as you will see from the picture, has been a promising start with people showing great interest. Let's hope it continues!!
We have just had the LEGENDARY drum teacher and friend Mike Dolbear come over to us at our pitch . He took some video footage of us grooving away! Great bloke!
Later today I had the pleasure of my good friend and very very respected drum and percussion designer Akbar Moghaddam, who has worked with most in the business but now takes the time to help The Dube move forward !! Great man !
An early start for Me on day 2 of PASIC and it couldn't have been any better! My meeting at 8.30am went very well plus I had Johnny Rabb over jamming with us on the stand. He is one of the fastest drummers I have seen in some time and a really nice bloke!! My friend Akbar popped in and introduced John Bush to the Dube, he is a session drummer with many well known American bands.
Had a bit of a mad 2/3 hours this afternoon, rushing from meeting to meeting, but it was all made worthwhile later when some of the elite in the percussion world came over to my booth!!! At one stage on the pitch I had Luis Conte, Richie Garcia, his son Roland Garcia and me! All jamming together, what an amazing session!! One to remember!!
My 3rd and final day in Austin, Texas at PASIC 2012 is nearly at it's end. I've met some brilliant people and had some really good and positive feedback about the DUBE ! A few thanks before I go any further .......To my very good friend Mr .....sorry Sir Mike Dolbear !! He has just been there for me and advised when I've asked.
Mr Thomas Lang ....OMG what a drummer! It's just amazing what he can do at a kit ....... With his feet alone he's better than most drummers, GENIUS!,
Thank you for all your help !
New and now very close friend Akbar is just a mind of BRILLIANCE !! Love him, top bloke ."
Stanton Moore, rock drummer and founder member of the band Galactic, dropped by the booth today, great to meet him and introduce him to the Dube too!
