EDUCATION

EDUCATION

Already in use in schools the Dube has received positive feedback from staff and children alike. Here you see early video of the Dube when I visited a school 3-4 years ago. Their reaction encouraged me to continue – have a look and see what a good time they had!
The children believe it is a fun instrument and a great tool for developing the musical elements, particularly rhythm, timing, co-ordination and friendships. It made the children do what I love and feel is most important – SMILE!
Having 4 sizes enables the classes to use the Dube for teamwork exercises too.
Given the customisable nature the Dube is ideal for environments with specific learning difficulties. For instance they can be easily adapted for the blind – each side may be customised with a different texture, ie ridged, dimpled, rough smooth, to distinguish and recognise the different tones and sounds produced on each side.

A DUBE is extremely versatile as a teaching tool, as can be modified simply to include, for example, colours or numbers on each side which then correspond with the differing tones and sounds produced.

Testimonial

On Monday 5th January 2015, we had the great pleasure of having a Dube workshop delivered to every member of staff by Eddie Dublin. Not only, was the whole experience fun and uplifting in what was an otherwise full on training day, but the skills that we all had to display highlighted the usefulness they hold for all of us and not just our students. The ability to follow instructions, do something which is out of your comfort zone and work together are invaluable skills, not just for school, but life. Eddie’s approach was warm and fun. He managed to get 44 adults all drumming away and left us all energised and wanting more. We were so convinced of the usefulness of this for our students that we have just booked Eddie to run a weekly workshop for the foreseeable future. I would recommend Eddie to work with adults or students unreservedly.

SESSION MUSIC

SESSION MUSIC

I had three primary objectives – my three golden rules if you like, being a percussionist, whilst developing the Dube. These were and still are: ‘It sounds good’, ‘It looks good’ and is ‘Easily transportable’. The extensive range of musical styles and genres catered for by the different sizes of the DUBE can suit musicians who play with multiple acts or are session artists, they’re a great addition to a percussionist or musician’s armoury. By providing both an acoustic version, without mic, and a Pro version, with integral mic, we enable the musician to choose the Dube best for them for their particular style of play.

With a selection of stands available, Single Low for seated play, Single High for play whilst standing and both a Twin and Quad for those wanting to play more than one Dube at a time, we’ve made it even easier to play the Dube how and where you want to.

PERCUSSION

PERCUSSION

With the selection of 4 sizes comes a vast range of tones. The 9″ Dube producing the higher pitched Latino style tone to the 18″ producing the very rich, deep bass feel and sound. We have a selection of Stands available to suit your style of play – a Single Low for seated play, Single High to play whilst standing or a Twin and Quad stand for those wanting to play more than one Dube at a time. To combine a set of four Dubes for an onstage performance will be visually stunning and add versatility to any percussionists set.
